RARAPR CELEBRATING EIGHT YEARS
Happy birthday to us! Yes, last month we celebrated eight years of rara. How beautiful. And how time flies. Some life-giving lessons and misadventures led to the creation of a dream PR agency. And one that we share with our clients and collaborators as an extension of us, and all that we exist for. raraPR was created for talented, creative and passionate people. It was born from a need to work closely with the makers, the designers, the entrepreneurs, the thought-leaders and all-round legends who have an idea, start a business or who work in an established business and dare to do things a little differently.
Here is a snapshot of our story so far:
2011: The Beginning
Jade Roberts, a spare room in a tiny rented house and a desire to kick-start a PR-led digital agency that was progressive, built on meaningful relationships and the innate need to work with like-minded creatives who together could make a positive impact on the world. We started with Melbourne.
2011: Hello Clients
The drive and enthusiasm take over the moments of self-doubt and discomfort. raraPR signs Melbourne’s GPO Shopping Centre, Gypsy River and international powerhouse, Comme des Garcons. A mix of iconic, global retailers and small business. This is the dream.
2012: Our Collective
We moved from one rented bedroom in the suburbs to another. We continued to work with global and iconic brands and a whole heap of start-ups. Each year our small but mighty team grew (as did Jade and Wes’ family of girls).
2013: We Moved
Proving that world-class PR experience and service need not rely on fancy desks, showrooms and a posh postcode, we moved from a rented home to our own home in the suburbs. The irony of deliveries from high-end fashion and design magazines is never lost and keeps us smiling.
2016: We re-branded.
As the business grew-up so did our branding. We refined our assets and aligned more closely with the type of businesses we continue to be inspired by – high street to high-end retail, fashion, interiors, design, property, health and wellness businesses.
2017: Workshops and Coaching
Staying true to one of the reasons we exist ‘world-class PR that is accessible’; we produced a series of workshops and coaching which allowed us to share what we know with businesses at any stage of their career. Watch this space for more to come.
2019: A New Era
It’s been real. Sole trader moments at large. Late nights. Early mornings. Courage over comfort. Highs and happy dances. Leaning on those friendships that support you through it all. 2019 and our eighth year brings an un-shakable desire to share more of what we know with our community. And show you who we really are – the faces behind our brand. We will be interviewing and introducing you to the people we’re inspired by and who choose us and our incredible team who make it all happen. We look forward to continuing to do good. We look forward to giving back.
2020: Our Future
One of our favourite mottos is ‘evolve or die’. This couldn’t be more important for retailers or anyone in business today and therefore the PR and marketing support behind them. For some clients more reluctant to embrace change, we are often found good-heartedly rallying and coaching them to adopt a progressive creative vision directed towards consumers and not just product or based on what they’ve always done. We want them to connect more authentically with their community. You will see us in our future practising more of what we preach. We will continue looking for new ways to connect people and share stories. And we shall make it our civic duty to share more of what we know.
